We found this clip, and were delighted to have done so. The Underemployed Life firmly believes each person has the ability to change their lives from the inside out. As individuals we hear so many outside voices throughout our lives telling us “how we should be,” and “what we should be” if we want success. It’s not hard to get lost in all that “noise.”
This week we feature the brilliant speaker and writer, Alan Watts. In this clip, Watts speaks of our journey from youths to adults, and the schools and systems that shape us. He speaks thoughtfully, eloquently, and deeply about the idea of moving through a flawed social ecosystem created by prior generations. It sounds rather dull and dry, but is in fact fascinating, illuminating, and funny. You may recognize the animation style; the short was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the South Park guys. We hope you enjoy it.
