Big business rules this country. They’re influential in how legislation gets passed or not passed. Their money and political sway have made them far more powerful than most governments. They use that political capital to insulate themselves from public outrage whenever they’re caught doing terrible things, One example is how the big banks got no real punishment for their parts in the 2008 financial crash.
